Conference summary and presentations now available

panelThe proceedings from the UNICREDS conference: “Can Universities Benefit Rural Communities? Harnessing the opportunity for Universities to drive smart specialisation in regional development” are now available online. The conference was led by the Combined Universities in Cornwall and hosted by the University of the Highlands and Islands at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Skye.

The conference summary includes an overview of the keynote presentation by Professor Norman Sharp and a summary of the panel debate about how embedding the economic and community benefits that a university can bring to a region. The presentation by Professor Sharp and two case studies presented by Associate Professor Eva Cudlinova from the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, and Dr Sue Brownlow, Director of the Combined Universities in Cornwall, UK.
