PROGRAMME:

The main conference will take place on Tuesday 18 January 2011 (please note the change from the previously advertised date of 19 January).  Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

The conference will showcase the work of the UNICREDS partners on partnership development, highlighting the ways in which Universities and higher/further education institutions, local learning centres, regional authorities and the private sector are working together in isolated or resource-poor regions with underperforming economies.

Johan Sterte, Vice-Chancellor of Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, will be giving the keynote presentation on “Partnership between a university, the municipalities and the business world in the north part of Sweden”.  The results of case studies from the UNICREDS partners will also be presented, followed by an opportunity to meet the partners and benefit from their shared experience over a poster session.

In addition to the conference, there will be a series of workshops and meetings on 18 - 20 January 2011 for UNICREDS partners and their invited guests.

ABOUT SOFIA: Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria with a population of approximately 2 million inhabitants. The capital is an old city offering various cultural, sports and other events.
